Hi to all and welcome to new subscribers. Things have been busy in my Etsy Shop . Last year in my August 2023 newsletter I talked about the history behind it (click on the link above to view previous newsletters if you would like to see it). I have been adding new products and new original art.

Exploring new styles and subjects has been keeping me busy and that is a good thing, since I went for a long time not painting at all while being a caregiver to my husband. He has been in and out of the hospital and now I take him to outpatient PT twice weekly. He is in a wheelchair and life has been a challenge. Tennis and painting keep me sane for now. As a friend said recently "Getting old isn't for sissies". We just celebrated our 60th anniversary. (I was a child bride-lol). You just have to keep going. I know many people on the same path.

The cats add a lot of joy to our lives. Can't imagine life without them. It can be work also, at times, cleaning up messes, emptying litter boxes and gathering shedding hair. The wheelchair is a magnet for cat hair.

Red, my ginger boy and Simba, my Ragdoll, greatgrand cat are still working out their relationship. They do a lot of play fighting, chasing and wrestling.

Bella, my Tortie girl is content to stay out of the fray and "help" me on the computer.

Some of you have asked me about exhibitions. Since I am no longer doing the outdoor shows or one woman shows and the galleries I was part of have closed I have been only showing my work online. Well, I have some good news! I came across a "call to artists" for a beautiful local gallery. I will be submitting work for their upcoming juried show in October. Stay tuned!

The Cat Cafe

The Cat Cafe is simply a cat's delight. A cat hangout with all their favorite things from catnip to sushi. The Chef cat is not too happy with the two kittens climbing around the fishy gelato bar. The bright colors are set off by the black and white checkerboard floor tiles.
36" x 36" on stretched canvas with high quality oil paints and canvas. Gallery wrapped with painting continuing around the sides. The depth is 1.5 inches.

Life At The Refuge

Late afternoon in the Everglades at Loxahatchee National Park and Wildlife Refuge in South Florida. The pink Roseatte Spoonbills stand out among the trees and branches. Dappled sunlight plays on the moss filled waterway while a Great Blue Heron stands along the riverbank. A calm and beautiful day at the Refuge.
24" x 36" on stretched canvas with high quality oil paints and canvas. Gallery wrapped with painting continuing around the sides. The depth is 1.5 inches.
